Loan Payment Calculator With Net Cash and Total Cost

See the payment, usable cash and total repayment from the same set of inputs. This calculator keeps a deducted fee visible, so a manageable payment cannot hide a shortfall in the amount you actually receive.

Calculate Payment and Usable Cash

Enter the contract inputs, not an advertised guess

Enter the base amount, contractual nominal annual interest rate, number of monthly payments and any mandatory fee. Select whether the fee is withheld, added to the financed balance or paid separately. The nominal rate drives interest accrual in this fixed-rate model; a disclosed APR that includes fees is not a substitute input. CFPB Regulation Z §1026.18: Content of disclosures

See payment and net cash together

The result separates the financed balance from net cash. A withheld fee reduces cash without reducing the balance on which this model calculates payments. A financed fee increases that balance; a separately paid fee becomes an additional outflow. Total cost here means scheduled repayment plus separate upfront charges minus net cash received, not a legal disclosure field.

Understand rounding and limitations

For balance B, monthly rate r and n payments, payment = B × r / [1 − (1 + r)^−n]. At zero rate, payment = B / n. The schedule rounds money to cents, applies modeled interest monthly and adjusts the last payment to clear the balance. Irregular first periods, daily accrual, insurance and charges not entered are excluded; use the lender’s agreement and final disclosures for the actual contract.

Use the result to narrow real options

Compare the result with your payment budget. If net cash is below the bill, increasing the term will not fix the shortfall. Changing the amount or fee treatment can change both cash and cost. Save the assumptions before opening a provider’s official product page; this calculation is not a rate quote or an application.

Boundary Cases for Loan Payment Calculator With Net Cash and Total Cost

Normal: $1,200 at 0% for 12 months produces $100 monthly payments. Edge: With a $60 withheld fee, usable cash is $1,140 while twelve payments still total $1,200; modeled cost is $60. Incomplete: If the nominal rate is missing, no payment is shown. Error: Negative amounts, an invalid fee mode or a withheld fee that consumes the entire advance are rejected.
