Use genuine documents. This calculator organizes information; it does not determine what a particular lender will accept.
Show the difference between sales and income
Revenue is money the business receives before its costs. It is not automatically money available for a personal loan payment. Begin with gross receipts, subtract the relevant business expenses, and distinguish income from transfers between your own accounts.
Record the period and whether a number is gross, net of business costs or personal take-home. Taxes, reserves and essential household costs belong in the appropriate budget layer rather than disappearing from the calculation.
Build a document set a lender can reconcile
| Income record | What it can help explain | Reconciliation check |
|---|---|---|
| Tax return or transcript | Reported income for its stated period | Do not present an annual amount as one month's income |
| Business and personal statements | Receipts, transfers and available cash | Do not count the same transfer twice |
| Profit-and-loss record | Receipts minus business costs | Explain differences from statement deposits |
| Contracts or invoices | Work billed or expected | An unpaid invoice is not cash already available |

Explain seasonal and one-off deposits
Separate recurring receipts from a one-time project, asset sale, reimbursement or borrowed funds. Mark months with unusual expenses or seasonality so the record can be reconciled rather than edited to look smoother.
If the strongest recent month includes payment for several months of work, spreading it across that work period may help explain the pattern—but do not claim a lender uses your averaging method. Keep the raw records and explanation together.
Choose a payment that survives a slow month
Three illustrative net-income months of $3,000, $1,800 and $3,600 average $2,800. The low month is still $1,800. Use both views instead of treating the average as a guaranteed paycheck.
If household essentials, existing payments and a reserve total $1,650, the low month leaves $150 before a new payment. A $200 payment produces a $50 shortfall in that month even though the average month appears comfortable. No credit score is calculated from this exercise.
Choose a verified option that matches this result
Reconcile My Income and Documents produces normalized receipts, an explicit transfer exclusion and a lower-month cash figure; the document table above identifies records to prepare. Then use the affordability calculator to choose a defensible payment budget.
Bring the genuine company information to the verified provider through its secure channel. A completed calculator makes the application easier to explain; it does not substitute for underwriting or a required tax document.
Cases That Change the Personal Loans For Self Employed Decision
Normal: $3,000 + $1,800 + $3,600 = $8,400 over three months, or $2,800 per month on average. The slow-month check uses $1,800, not the average.
Edge: A $1,000 transfer from the business account to personal savings is already represented in income. It is not a second $1,000 source.
Incomplete: Business costs are not known. The calculator can list receipts but cannot label them net personal income.
