Use this calculator to identify the right proof channel and explain legitimate differences without uploading financial records.
Match the verification method to the income source
Match wages to pay records, self-employment to suitable business and tax records, benefits to the relevant award or payment information, and other recurring income to the provider's accepted documentation.
A provider may request different information for different sources. Its document policy—not this calculator—determines what it accepts.
Reconcile gross, net and deposits
Gross pay is not the same as the amount deposited after deductions. Business receipts are not automatically the owner's spendable income. Transfers between your own accounts do not create additional earnings.
Record source, period, gross/net basis and recurring status for each amount. Reconcile a mismatch before aggregating figures; otherwise you may double-count income or compare different periods.
Understand bank-access consent
| Permission or data type | Do not confuse it with |
|---|---|
| Read-access verification | Permission to debit repayments |
| Account ownership check | Guaranteed income acceptance |
| Deposit history | Net income after business expenses |
| Tax information | Current cash already received |
| Autopay authorization | Proof of affordability |
Resolve a mismatch honestly
Use the original document to explain deductions, pay periods or transfers. Do not edit a record to make it match a form's expected amount.
If a system cannot classify a legitimate source, ask the provider about an approved alternative method. A technical categorization problem is not permission to change the source description.
Return to the exact verified application step
The result is a reconciliation list and the proof still needed. Return to the same provider's verification step once its instructions are confirmed.
For a budget calculation, use take-home cash and actual expenses. For a provider's ratio calculation, use the basis it requires and label it clearly; never mix gross and net without explanation.
Cases That Change the Personal Loan Income Verification Decision
Normal: a pay statement shows $2,500 gross and $2,000 after deductions. The $2,000 deposit can be consistent with the statement, not a $500 error.
Edge: another $500 entry is a transfer from the same person's savings. It is not new wage income.
Incomplete: the pay period is unknown. Monthly normalization cannot be completed until frequency is confirmed.
